Advantage Metal Powders (AMP) has been a part of the local community since 2001. Since then, we have always thought that it was vital to do our part in helping the surrounding communities grow and thrive. To date we have donated to over 35 different organizations that work to better the lives of the people in our community. Some of these organizations are church groups, youth sporting events, YMCA, search and rescue, youth in the outdoors, Rotary clubs, school programs, American Legion programs, Relay for life, just to name a few. In addition to monetary donations AMP allows time out of the office for employees to get involved in the community. Our employees have addressed school classrooms discussing manufacturing careers in our area, gave tours to teachers to help educate the educators of our area, participated in local leadership programs, and have employees on different boards in the community like the Northern PA Community College, Community Education Center, The United Way, Penn State Engineering Department, Highschool Trap League and North Central Planning Commission.
We also feel it’s imperative to be involved in the local APMI chapter along with MPIF. This allows us to make sure we stay on the cutting edge of what’s happening in the industry. Through our involvement with Workforce Solutions of Northcentral PA, Northern PA Community College, Community Education Center, Penn State DuBois and local High Schools we’re able to keep students (of all ages) informed on various types of careers the Powder Metal industry has to offer. If we don’t help to educate the upcoming workforce about our industry, we’ll all be looking for a new career path.
